Cleanliness is Next To…Part 2.

In the last article I prepared the readers of this magazine for the important task of proper cleansing and care of their sex toys.

No matter, who or how many people will use your dildo, butt plug, anal beads, paddle, or pocket pussy…it is most important to properly clean and care for these items to prevent the spread of infection and disease…even if you are the only one it is used on.

So you assembled your toys and stocked the bathroom cabinet with the grocery list of basics I gave you in the first part of the article…what’s next?

Well, that depends on what toys you are dealing with…After having used it with a condom you still have to clean it., and
even though 2 toys look clean there are many things your eyes cannot see on it’s surface that could make you ill, bacteria, disease, and even toys that look similar may be made from different materials with vastly different cleaning instructions. Incorrect cleaning can be inefficient, reduce the life
of your toy, and even break down the integrity of the toy’s surface making
them able to harbor more creepy crawlies where cleaning can’t reach.

The toys in this part of the series will start with someof the most used.

Latex
The latex item should have been used with a condom so you will not see filth in most cases so be sure to wash all of it thoroughly,

Starting with warm (not hot) water and a mild anti bacterial soap (you may like Hibicleanse or ForPlay Toy Cleanser for this job), use a gentle food
scrubber to scrub it.
Put the toy in the warm ( not boiling) water and soak for 20 minutes.
Rinse well and set out to dry.

Silicon
This toy is a bit more expensive than the tried and true latex and jelly toys many are used too but, are loved for their ability to be heated with a dunk in extremely hot water, which makes them warm like body temperature.

More important is the benefit that they are less porous on their surface than jelly, and aren’t suceptible to break down when exposed to oil based products like it’s latex equivilents.

The down fall is that they shouldn’t be used with silicone lubes (which sticksless, last longer and feels better than waterbased lubes). Only use waterbased lube with silicon.
Even though this toy can be used with an oilbased lube, it should always be used with a latex condom and the condom cannot.

To clean it you should bring a pot of water to boil.
Submerge the toy in the boiling water for 3 miutes.
Remove from water with wooden utensils, being careful not to touch the toy to the pot.
Run the toy under cool water till cool to the touch.
