Well, the beaux Peep show had amazing energy last night.
New Orleans different approach to burlesque, inovative, fun, and the only currently remaining burlesque troupe in the city. Started a year and a half ago.
He was unable to be with us do to his baby’s false alarm delivery that very night. A new comer, Nicholas, would be a great straight man to play off Aldo. He did a fine job on short notice and no preparation in covering for him, but could never replace him.
Getting Dirty seems to be getting tighter and tighter each show.
Sassy Frass was really cute as a lion in “Hunter”.
I had been waiting to see Jackie O-nassty’s amazing new number called Vanquish in full effect. I had seen it at rehearsal. It was phenominal even then, when the poi weren’t lit and she wasn’t in costume…but when she got on stage she blew the audience away. It was beautiful, power, confidence, art, grace, it was gorgeous.
Rev Spooky la Strange is always stunning with her classic style. It was the first time I saw her do singing in the rain. And she always knocks the room out cold with her Billy Holiday’s bab, Ain’t I Good to You. And the new dress she wore in Queen of the Nile was ultra sexy. the crowd went wild when she did the bath.
Sadie Corsette got very interactive with a different version of Out for Blood, making it audience participation and bringing in music that really moved her to the most erotic performance. And the “My Kung Fu is Better Than Yours” with Fortune Cookie was cute as ever, appealing to my asian fetish, particularly for the japanese.
Fortune Cookie got saucier than ever in “Friendly Little Cat”. Misses Lindburge had to be arranged differently with Aldo’s absence, but Fotune Cookie showed her true skill at improv and recovered the whole act.
We cut my “Puss and Boots” this week because the cream can be nausiating and hard to get off skin and clothing, and leaves an odor, we are working on a substitution, but we did still do Junko the Clown which was cute as can be as usual, and I added a new gimmick for Rev Spookies part in the show.
I think that is one of the fun things about Lil Beaux Peep Show…it changes every show, so you never know what you are going to see, and this weekend we will be definitely out to surprise you, getting into and over our Halloween spirit.
The sad thing is I never get to watch the whole show. Maybe some one else can share the points I missed.
And in closing I would like to add that Sadie Corsette is about to put up a website to really share the experience for those that can’t always be there.
